MAC Junior & Senior Translators
Project objectives
- To train students to become excellent readers, writers and translators through MAC’s project-based activities and allow students be part of life skill in producing the PRC bilingual magazine, That Is PRC.
How will you benefit from this program?
- Students will learn to write professionally.
- Students will learn to translate from Thai into English and from English into Thai, including translation techniques.
- Students’ reading and writing skills will improve.
- Students will experience life skills through translation.
- Students will have the opportunity to join a seminar with BBC Thailand.
- Students’ work can be put in a professional portfolio.
- Translator could be your future career.
- An opportunity to work part time with “Harris Institute Translation Centre”
Who can join?
- middle school students (Grades 8-9)
- high school students (Grades 10-12)
who are good at English speaking, listening and writing. At “MAC junior & Senior translators,” you’ll learn English skill in combination with reading, writing and translation. MAC translation teachers are highly educated and have professional experience in the fields they teach. They’re university professors and professionals in the community. They teach life communication skills to students like you through MAC’s project-based learning activities.

Project objectives
- To train students to become excellent readers, speakers, MCs and interpreters through MAC’s project-based activities and allow students to take part in life skills as they participate in real events.
How will you benefit from this program?
- Students will learn Phonetics.
- Students will learn to read and speak professionally.
- Students will learn to interpret from Thai to English and from English to Thai, utilizing interpreting techniques.
- Students will experience life skills through interpretation.
- Students will have the opportunity to join a seminar with BBC Thailand.
- Students’ work can be put in a professional portfolio.
- Interpreting could be your future career.
- Students will have the opportunity to work part time with ‘Harris Institute Language Centre.’
- Students will have opportunity to create video presentation for PRC English Website Broadcast.

Media Arts Club (MAC) for BBC and PRC Digital Broadcast
hosting the “Creating Impactful Content as Digital Citizens Workshop” on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 17:00 – 20:00 at Van Alen Harris Conference Room, Harris Institute. The workshop conducted by Khun Chaiyot Yongcharoenchai, Senior Journalist BBC and Reuters.

To learn news writing and reporting, and content writing for TV broadcasting and online broadcasting

To Serve – Admissions Office, Language Centre, and Scholarship Abroad invites PRC students in grades 1 – 12 to participate in Media Arts Club English Writing Competition 2023.
- Each participant can submit only one piece of writing composition on one of the topics below:
- Writing for grades 1 – 6
- Length : 500 words
Topic : An unforgettable experience in my life - Writing for grades 7 – 12
- Length : 800 words
Topic : An Invention that will change the future of the world
Project objectives
- To enable the students to develop and share their own perspectives.
- To give the students an opportunity to explore and demonstrate their creativity
- To give a public audience for students to share their writing with
- To underline the importance of writing creatively
- To demonstrate the extraordinary talent that is the students of The Prince’s Royal College
- To improve student confidence in writing and improve their English writing skills
MAC Bookworm Adventures
MAC Bookworm Adventures is a program designed to encourage children to develop a love of books and reading and explore a range of wonderful English books for children. It allows students to borrow books to practice reading at home, as well as carrying out a range of reading related activities including drama and enactments of stories. Books are closely linked to the children’s age and reading level. In Academic Year 2022, we have integrated MAC Bookworm Adventures and ESL Kids Program to create an English course that helps develop students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Project objectives
- To develop leadership skills
- To learn to be a ‘team player’
- To support the reading club as ‘young reader’ leaders
- To practice leadership roles

Aspiring students who join this program will have the incredible opportunity to delve into the world of newspaper journalism. They will learn the art of news writing, photography techniques, conducting interviews, language editing, and even newspaper layout design. Most importantly, they will acquire invaluable time management skills while gaining hands-on experience in the real process of crafting The PRC News.
